Cut out a fragment by timecodes. The stream is copied without re-encoding, so it is fast and lossless. If the cut cannot land on a keyframe, we re-encode and say so.

About this tool
- Where it runs
- On the server: a browser cannot do this kind of work. The file is uploaded only for as long as the job takes and deleted right after — two hours without an account, twenty-four hours with one.
- What it accepts
- video, MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, AVI, M4V. The type is determined by the file contents, not by its extension.
- Limits
- Up to 3 files at a time, each up to 500 MB, 1 GB in total.
Frequently asked
- Why is the fragment slightly longer than I asked for?
- To avoid re-encoding, we copy the stream as it is, and a copy can only start at a keyframe. Those come every few seconds, hence the small drift. If it matters, turn on the precise cut — slower, but exactly on your marks.
- Does trimming lose quality?
- No: a normal trim re-encodes nothing and the picture stays as it was. Re-encoding switches on by itself only when the keyframes cannot hit the fragment you asked for — and then we say so in the result.
